As published in the April 2026 JCS Central Office Update.

Construction is moving steadily forward on the addition of four new classrooms and a new set of bathrooms at Talbott Elementary School, with significant milestones reached over the past week. As work transitions further into interior phases, visible progress is now taking shape throughout the project site.

Over the past week, crews completed several key structural and systems‑related tasks. The final HVAC curb has been installed, allowing HVAC ductwork to begin going up throughout the new addition. Electrical conduit and panel installations are underway, and plumbing rough‑in work has officially started.

Concrete columns have been formed and poured, and roofing activities began, marking an important step in enclosing the building. Wall and door frames are now prepared for upcoming finishes, storefront windows have been installed, and excavation has begun for the exterior ramp that will provide accessibility to the new spaces.

The Talbott Elementary School addition represents an exciting investment in enhanced learning spaces for students and staff, and we look forward to sharing continued updates as construction progresses.
